I always used a pin-spanner on my tandem eccentric because it was the only part that required a pin spanner after about 1992, and I had to get some use out of my pin spanners. I think I have three or more -- including a Hozan (or some VAR knock-off) adjustable. They are now part of the great dust-collecting, historical tool collection. I recall using a pin spanner recently, but I can't remember what for. It was not for bicycle repair -- but now with Lou's tape-tip, it's a new dawn for at least one of the pin spanners.. -- Jay Beattie. |

I just had to buy what is essentially a pin spanner to loosen the lock nut on FSA cranks. Apparently there are several cranks that use that tool. |
