Default Oh the irony

My local cycling campaign group[1] have put this piccy up on their site:

www.gmcc.org.uk/blog/wp-content/uploads/PE20060317.jpg

Which made me laugh, because they ask everyone turning up to their monthly
'critical commute' to wear hi-vis clothing. B'ah!

On their webpage the text under the pic reads "reproduced from Private Eye
*without* permission".

Is there an offence equivalent to "impersonating a police officer"? in
the locality where this picture was taken?

A South Oxfordshire resident who is often stopped for driving home late
in the evening says they usually say "And where have you been this
tonight then?" or something very like it. They don't like him telling
them they've no authority to demand that information, and if he wasn't a
barrister they'd find something to arrest him for.

BTW this is the same South Oxfordshire where someone's just been beaten
to death outside a police station. I know that police station, it has
steel shutters in front and looks deserted, as if it's only ever staffed
in Regatta week. I never guessed there was anyone in there, and
apparently Henley's low lifes didn't either.

Bicycle helmets are really a bit of a scam.
They make most cyclists slightly less safe but there's money in selling them.

And if there is, how do the dustmen stay out of jail?

Because the dustmen (or dustwomen) are out on the streets (in all
weathers). When did you last see a police officer on the street? :P
