What's a Bernie? What's half a Bernie?

If you're referring to the amount Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone
has just paid to a German court, then please try to keep up at the
back.

Bernie Ecclestone coughed up 100 million US dollars for the court to
drop bribery charges against him...oh, the irony of this...but of
course this could never be a bribe to drop bribery charges.

The above amount is about 60 million UK pounds. So half a Bernie is
about 30 million UK pounds...you're only out by a factor of 60.

Good 'ole Bernie had an earlier escapade involving the UK government
(Blair, in the days when he thought of himself as a pretty straight sort
of guy) where the br... er... amount... was "only" a piffling million
quid ("donation to the Labour Party").

Divide that by two...

Not only that, but he does not know what "factor" means.
