Car Racks
I bought a rear-mounted rack with straps but just wasn't sure about it
so took it back. There's no tow-bar on the car so that's out. Halfords do the following clip-on rack that would seem to be the same as the Mont Blanc one. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...torCatalogId=# http://www.paddyhopkirk.co.uk/products/cycle/red/h3.htm Has anyone here bought one of these? Looks like it'd be pretty steady. Thanks. Ed. |

Should really have a lighting board to go with it, though. -- Hywel http://kibo.org.uk/ |

Car Racks
As a general comment, I've had no problem with stability wih any of these types of carriers, hung carefully on the back of the car and driving sensibly. What I have had a problem with is the straps slipping through the crocodile clip style things after a few months use. The cure I found was to buy a couple of small screw down clamps from the local DIY chain and fix them on the straps. |
