Any Richmond VA MTBers...I have a ?
I'm relatively new to Richmond and I've been able to figure out most of the
available trails such as Pocahontas, Poor Farm, Powhite, Buttermilk, and Deep Run. I just learned of Camp Hilbert. On another site folks were saying it used to be private but now is open to ride whenever trail conditions allow. It's about 10 minutes west of Short Pump which is where I live so I took a ride down there this AM but there were locked gates across the entrance to the camp with numerous "No Parking", "No Tresspassing", and "Cars Will Be Towed" signs. The other folks said if gate was locked to just park on the grass and enjoy but I'm hesitant to do this in fear that when I return my vehicle will be gone or ticketed. Any Richmond riders around that have experience with Camp Hilbert??? |

In the interim, you can check he http://www.more-mtb.org/index.php for some good info If you care to head further downt the peninsula into my neck of the woods, this might help too: www.evma.org Just don't hope for much in the way of elevation change.
