At least they seeming to be blaming the driver this time instead of
the vulnerable victim. Oh yes, note it wasn't called an 'accident' but
a 'collision' to be more accurate.

"Two arrested over cyclist death in Essex

Two people have been arrested after a cyclist died in a collision with
a car in Essex.

A 38-year-old man from Hutton died at the scene of the crash at Ongar
Road, Stapleford Tawney, on Sunday evening.

Police said a Ford Puma collided with the cyclist before hitting trees
and overturning in a ditch.

A 20-year-old woman from Brentwood and a 21-year-old man from Loughton
are being questioned on suspicion of causing death by dangerous
driving.

Police would like to hear from anyone who saw the collision, or the
cyclist and car beforehand. The car is thought to have turned off the
B175 Stapleford Road into Ongar Road..."

Can you please research how many cyclists there are on the roads, the amount
killed and how long it will take us to kill you all?

Appreciated

Couldn't happen as we are constantly being replaced. Your typical lack
of regard for human life, common to motorists seemingly, duly noted
though.

All we know at the moment is that a cyclist was killed and that two
people have been questioned about a *possible* dangerous driving
offence. For all we know the cyclist might have caused the accident.
According to Doug the people in the car should be lynched by hanging
from the nearest tree before a fair trial has taken place. He is
Judge, Jury and Executioner in his own warped little mind.

Nope. They should be properly tried, preferably in front of an
unbiased jury and receive an appropriate sentence if found guilty. But
of course that won't happen will it.

Assuming it is impossible for blame to be laid at the door of the dead
cyclist, the mainly motorist jury wiill be somewhat sympathetic to the
motorist killer and the motorist judge will ensure that he gets a
relatively light sentence as usual. With a dangerous driving maximum
sentence of 14 years, unlike manslaughter with life, they would only
do 7 years max anyway and are likely to be given much less than the
maximum, ending up with the usual slap on the wrist for taking a human
life on our roads.

Since the cards are stacked so heavily against cyclists I wonder why they
carry on riding in such a dangerous fashion and in such dangerous
situations.

It is a bit like going with a hooker and not using a condom, you might be
lucky, have a nice time and not catch anything or you might end up dead. Is
it worth the risk?

Only if there is reason to suspect that an offence has been committed, surely.

Note: the test is not that an offence might possibly have been committed, it
is that there is a positive suspicion that an offence *has* been committed.

After all, if a tramp died in your garden and was only found there a month
later in the undergrowth, you'd be a bit peeved if you were tried for murder
"just in case", wouldn't you?

Why assume that?

The trial would just be a backup, and he would not want a fair one.

Doug yet again ignores all that he has been told about manslaughter etc.
