It has no ESC, but does have ABS. Stock or modified? What model/year? Modified with OEM parts. 1995. Ooops, forgot the "S6" part. *Explanation: *In the early 90s, Audi and Porsche teamed up to make a quick little car based on the Audi 90 platform (B4) using the AAN motor. 380HP out of a 2.3L engine is one fairly big turbo :-) Though the RS2 engine is claimed to be 315 HP rather than 380, which TBH for a reliable stock engine seems a lot more believable. The thing pumps at 28 psi, sustained. I think the RS2 stopped at 20 psi, due to the Germans wanting to get a million kilometers out of those motors. E.P. |

Let's put it this way: *your 1995 400-hp Audi has a much bigger carbon assprint than a 2009 Hummer, and people slash the tires of the latter. You need to look at the relative mpg to confirm this. Overpowered cars _can_ burn a lot of gas, but since they are rarely driven at top speed, their average mpg is not necessarily low just because their hp are high. My guess is that for putzing around town and driving up Ed's icy driveway, a 400-hp Audi burns less gas than a Hummer. Also, you can see over an Audi, and you can't see over a Hummer. That's important. Ben |

A Hummer or an Audi may not be driven _fast_all the time, but the Hummer is heavy all the time. Each time you take off from a stop, or accelerate for any other reason. that weight difference uses extra fuel. That energy is wasted when you hit t the brakes. When will they build a hybrid Hummer? |

There already are many "heavy hybrids" -- Cadillac Escalade for one. I still say a *2009* Hummer or SUV pollutes a helluva lot less than a 1995 400-horsepower sports car. Hell, a good part of new vehicles' weight are all the mandated, computerized EPA systems on board. I'm all for reducing emissions, but not for faux global warming reasons. We're on the verge of wrecking the economy and destroying tens of thousands of jobs, all for naught. BS |
