Default Real or Counterfeit- Pearl Izumi- Ebay.

These seem pretty cheap for genuine Pearl Izumi products;

Anyone want to offer an opinion as to whether they are genuine or not?

Here's my opinion (all care, no responsibility):

They are real, it's a bike shop selling off all the stuff that noone
bought through winter at close to cost to get rid of them.

It's bad form to wear a Rainbow jersey or any other prize jersey if you
haven't won it. Hence, noone bought the rainbow jersey jacket, now the
bike shop wants to get rid of it to make way for the summer range.

Note the other jackets are all an ugly red color, hence noone bought
them either.

If you're looking for cheap ugly cycling gear, there's a place in
Elwood that specialises in it.......

yeah... and what about all the people that ride with jerseys of their
favourite teams, but dont ride for those teams.... is that bad form as
well ? The jersey I wear is of my own company, lucky I work for
them...!

I agree though, one of the ugliest things I have seen.... I think that
was the reason it was never bought....

Yes, bad form.

Rainbow jersey's aren;t awarded at the Olympics, they're awarded at the
world championships...

You can ignbore the conventions of the sport as long as you like, just
don't come back and post when you can't seem to breakaway from
races...

Only "new to cycling" riders wear yellow/sprinters/climbers/rainbow
jerseys.... Hence, you'll see a lot of them in D grade, and none in A
grade, becuase the A graders get to race with the good guys, and show
them the respect they deserve.

I wear a yellow jersey on the road just for the visibility factor. I
wouldn't wear anything earned like that in a race though (if I ever raced).
Hell, I'd feel like a ****** wearing the rainbow jersey on the road, which
is a pity because it's funky looking. Mind you, horizontal stripes is not a
look I should be chasing.

I've been tempted to buy a polka dot jersey to ride in the Sunday BR's.
At least it would give me something to laugh at as I grind my way to the
top.

I agree, they are very ugly items of clothing. Shouldn't stop cyclists from
buying them though, judging by some of the ugly crap I see cyclists wearing
on most Sundays.

I recently heard of Chinese counterfeiters manufacturing ripoff
hiking/climbing gear (such as North Face Gortex jackets), so for a moment I
thought they were doing the same with cycling stuff. However your theory
makes perfect sense. This stuff is really awful.

I think I know the place you are talking about in Elwood (does the colour
Orange mean anything here?), but I think they have put their prices up since
I was last there, so you can take the cheap out of the "cheap ugly"
equation...
