Default Reccomend an inexpensive wheelset to replace the ALEX DA-22's?

I am looking for a new set. How much do I have to spend to notice a big
difference from the Alex rims? The reason I want to replace them is cause I
want to use my old rear wheel for my trainer so I don't have to keep
switching the tires. (The trainer chews them up). So I will use the old
front as a spare. I know I have to buy another cassette also. The bike is
only worth $600. Thanks

You don't say what size you need, i.e., 700c (622mm), 27" (630mm),
etc., but contact Sheldon Brown he has wheelsets at a reasonable price:

Nashbar has Sun CR-18 with Alivio hubs for $110/pr. They call them
"hybrid" wheels, but the CR-18 is a nice rim.

If you are using 700x25 tires, then you're using 700c (622mm) wheels.

As stated above, check out Sheldon's website or other mail order places
like Performance Bike.
