all.

Ya know, you were there and I wasn't, but at the time we weren't
hearing that the French applauded and admired Lemond. In fact, I'd read
that when the French didn't misspell his name as you do, they would
pronounce it LE'mond (accent first syllable) to make quite clear that
there was nothing French about him.
It's certainly understandable that French fans of Hinault and Fignon
would favor them. But this is the first I'd ever heard that the French
had any love for Lemond.

Some admired his attempts to speak french.

what he did is worst than Armstrong did, and Greg Lemon should be sad to
see
all that.
Armstrong was too snob to be liked, but Floyd is hypocrit, he said all day
long that he was educated like a memonnite and that he didn't care about
TV
and phone, he seems different and was funny with his uggly sunglasses of
his
grandmother but now everyone is discusted because he betrayed everyone.
So Lemon will always remain the most popular american racer in Europe

It is well know that the only american biker we love is Jerry Lewis.....

You mean Anquetil was wrong? He thought the French hated him and he
was French. You can also see a few second place or support French
riders looking a bit grim and staring in the other direction when in
the same photos with him. If you are looking for at least a mild case
of paranoia, he was probably the star to start with. OTOH, he is also
probably the person to put on the Livedrunk(tm) poster.

The whole US Postal outfit was like a giant pharamacutical experiment.
They're faces, and eyes even looked different, kind of like Barbaro's.
Everyone knew there was something rotten in Denmark,

Leave Rasmussen out of this!

Ignoring the segue that makes Europe equivalent to France, I've read
some good press from europe about the Hamster. And he still lives in
Europe, last I heard. OK, Italy, so he doesn't quite fit the Jerry
Lewis, France=Europe comment.

What curious is that the French seem to dislike riders who don't appear
to be human and capable of failure. They did not like Hinault either.
Until he proved to be fallible and then he was quite popular.

Which explains why Landis is popular. After the blow up he appeared very
human.
