the court can order him disqualified; quite right, one would not want
people with such shallow emotional control in charge of other people's

perhaps the cyclist invented the assault to cover his own stupidity in
riding into a lamppost, it has happened before.

So he saw that the lorry was reversing, but he managed to get 'trapped' behind it, then he felt the need to confront the driver.

If I was a cyclist who encountered a reversing lorry, I would want to keep clear of it.

I would say that the onus is on the reversing vehicle driver to ensure there is nothing in his way before backing up. He should have found a banksman or had reversing sensors/cameras.

Is any excuse required for knocking out a cyclist's teeth?
