I don't see anything wrong with the cyclist's behavior. It was gutsy,
but it was not incorrect.

Police are divided into two groups, the Hawks and the Doves. Make a scathing comment or a commentthat a Hawk takes the wrong way and you'll be hassled by that Hawk of a cop.

Interesting that the cop never bothered any of the other bicyclists.

Cheers.

A few years ago, a cop with a bad reputation hassled a friend of mine as
he bike commuted to work. The cop told the guy to ride facing traffic
or he'd ticket him. It led to much outrage, formal complaints against
the cop, etc.

I can't say it educated the cop. He was a known jerk due to retire
soon. But at least a couple police departments heard about the
incident, and I suppose it helped educate other cops.

Interesting that the cop never bothered any of the other bicyclists.

Yep. That's what's called "selective enforcement," in this case,
selective enforcement of an imaginary law.

I was hassled because I was the only car on the freeway doing the speed limit so I was suspicious.

limit anyway?

That's what the cop wanted to know. Then when I handed the papers over he saw that I'm officially a handicap person which I have to be since I can't pass a drunk test taking this medication. If I was asked to look up and stand on on leg I'd fall right over. I can't walk a straight line but I can ride or drive one.

It is true, though, that drunks more often go under the speed limit than over. The profile is accurate -- except in Tom's case. Maybe they pulled him over because he is Croatian.

Same thing with the pills I take. Weirdly, I'm good on my bike, but on my feet, towards the end of the day when I'm tired, I don't walk too straight.

BTW, Google does the same thing to me about identifying my posts: They are labeled "me", not by my name, though everyone else's posts are labelled by their names. However, you can change it. Open a a reply to this post, then you will see in brackets after the "me" "([whatever name you told Google to put up] change)". You'll probably still see the "me" but you will be able to alter your email that Google thinks is your name to your name, so it show Tom Kunich to everyone else. To check, after you made the chance, sign out of usergroups (first making sure you know how to sign back in...) and open RBT as a stranger.
