So, what's Evans' chances? Is he a better time trialer that Contador?

Contador wins...

Cadel beat him by a little more than a minute in the 1st TT. Contador
has a bit less than 2 minutes in hand. With the Mailloit Jaune on
his back and Bruyneel giving him the old "Venga! Venga!" routine I
don't see how Contador loses (unless, of course, he joins the ranks of
Vino, Rasmussen, et. al.)

Stage 13 results
1 A Cheater 1.06.34
2 Cadel Evans 1.14
7 Alberto Contador 2.18
9 Levi Leipheimer 2.39
11 Another cheater 2.55

You mean:

Stage 13 results
1 A Cheater 1.06.34
2 B Cheater 1.14
7 C Cheater 2.18
9 D Cheater 2.39
11 E Cheater 2.55

I think they should all be disqualified except for Millar. Viva Millar!!!

Actually "E Cheater" is Rasmussen who has yet to test positive for
anything so perhaps I should have labeled that one as "A Liar"
instead.

It's longer and flatter, both of which will be more beneficial to Evans. It
could be close.

Evans is in the prime of his career with a lot of muscle memory to carry him
along on a LONG TT. Contadore is a skinny climber who has the advantage of
youth and enthusiasm.

My guess is that Evans will be the first Australian to win the yellow
jersey.

That depends on whether Disco all get into their team bus tomorrow and go
home.

For next year's tour, the team of each successive stage winner should be
eliminated automatically, thus saving all this tedious messing about with
drug tests. Whichever team is left on the last day then get to race
amongst themselves for the yellow jersey, before being disqualified.
