IOW, riding on the road - instead of a separate path - is not wise.

If the driver had skidded into pedestrians walking on a sidewalk, he'd
have killed them in just the same manner. Does that mean it's foolish
to _walk_ in the winter? Must we never leave our cars to be considered
"wise"?

Granted, "Never travel except by car" is a common enough sentiment.
But I never thought it was very sensible.

And neither is "We need bike paths everywhere," which may be the OP's
message.

This is the same idiot who does not want you to wear a helmet either. At
least he is a consistent idiot and that surely counts for something. I like
my idiots to be thorough going idiots like Frank K. and not part-time idiots
