What does this have to do with cycling?

Seriously?

The headline from that article.

"Former Olympic cyclist Nicole Cooke raises accusations of
widespread doping and sexism within cycling"

I mean I am not daft on what Pounder usually writes but you are
just playing into his hands on this one. Even if you don't
click on links (VMs rule) a quick look over where that one is
headed should suffice.

Soup:
I'm a bit too long in the tooth to take bait from this bellend.

Have you ever taken a driving test?

What do you think?

I think you haven't.
If you have then it demonstrates driving tests are far too easy and
an intelligence test is needed before a provisional licence is
granted.

Okay, I'll bite.
44 years ago I passed my driving test.

You need to be re-tested.

Why?

Because there is no proof you are competent to drive in this century.

Are your two CSEs in woodwork and RE still valid?

I have a 30 year old MSc in 'Modern Electronics'. Do you think that would be considered valid if I applied for a job as an electronics engineer?

Electronics has changed a lot more than cars.

I was replying to Noddy's question about CSE's, of which I have none.

Yes, but the original discussion was about cars.

I did not bring up childhood 'qualifications'.
I'm sure CSE's seem important to someone who never went on to further or higher education.
If asked to list my qualifications I would only list my Degrees.

Agreed - most jobs only ask for your highest level of education. Mind you, some of the lower levels might be in different subjects useful for the job.

Since they are operated more or less the same as they always were, no need for new tuition.

It's not the operation of the machinery that is the problem, it is the interaction with other road users.

Which also has not changed. Anyway experience makes you a far better driver than tuition.

What percentage of drivers think cyclists must use cycle paths and/or are not permitted to cycle on the road next to a cycle path?

Why spend money on cycle paths then not use them? Cyclists on roads holding up faster traffic when they could be on their own nice quiet path are both stupid and selfish.

The Highway Code clearly states cycle facilities are optional. When I took my driving test the HC did not mention cycle facilities.
Same applies to ASL's or mobile phones.

Nobody pays attention to the HC. It's just a guidebook after all.

Didn't you just try to argue that 20mph limits don't apply to you because they didn't exist when you took your test?

That is not 100% correct. I ignore all limits.

When I was at school only those unable to count beyond 10 with their
shoes on did woodwork and RE was replaced with

Social and Personal
Education.

Does that explain why you are such a pillock?

That class is a friendly term for condoms and narcotics.

At primary school the Rector would teach us about Christianity and the bible on Friday mornings.
Fortunately I was intelligent enough to throw off the brain washing and see through the myths.

Fortunately the worst I got was saying grace every lunchtime. I got into a bit of trouble over not doing so :-)

Same thing applies to drugs and vegetarians.

Explain.

I remember my primary school teacher Miss Mason talking about these strange people who do not eat meat and had to nibble nuts all day in order to avoid starvation. That was in the early 70's.
The drugs bit is obvious.

Why spend money on motorways and not use them.
Cars should be banned from the A1, A3, A4, A6 as it is selfish to hold up traffic when perfectly good motorways are available.

It is not always possible to use the motorway. You might be going somewhere else, you might be a tractor, etc.

I said, "Yesterday."

widespread doping and sexism within cycling"

I mean I am not daft on what Pounder usually writes but you are
just playing into his hands on this one. Even if you don't
click on links (VMs rule) a quick look over where that one is
headed should suffice.

Why spend money on motorways and not use them.
Cars should be banned from the A1, A3, A4, A6 as it is selfish to hold up traffic when perfectly good motorways are available.

It is not always possible to use the motorway. You might be going somewhere else, you might be a tractor, etc.

Yet you think primary road users should be compelled to use cycle paths.

I was replying to Noddy's question about CSE's, of which I have none.

I didn't realise there were ever anti-vegetarians.

The drugs bit is obvious.

I take it you're pro-drugs then.

I am pro legal cannabis.

My opinion of you has improved.

It is preferable for them aswell as the cars. When on a bike, I take the quietest and most direct route.

And why do you call them primary users? Cars use the roads more than you.

If you were in Stony Stratford and wished to cycle to Bletchley would you use Wattling Street or the Redways?

And why do you call them primary users?

Because cyclists, like pedestrians and equestrians use roads as a matter of right not under license,

Cars use the roads more than you.

That makes no sense.
Although if an alien race discovered Earth they would think cars are the dominant life form.
