Where do cycle accidents happen?
The direct.gov.uk site have just published a spreadsheet containing the
grid references where injury accidents reported to the Police occurred. http://innovate.direct.gov.uk/2009/0...some-raw-data/ Thought some people here might be interested. --chris |

I'm a bit confused by the intro text: "The data in the attached sheets show the location of personal injury accidents reported to the police in which at least one pedal cycle was involved. Definition Accident: Involves personal injury occurring on the public highway (including footways) in which at least one road vehicle or a vehicle in collision with a pedestrian is involved and which becomes known to the police within 30 days of its occurrence. The vehicle need not be moving, and accidents involving stationary vehicles and pedestrians or users are included" So are the recorded accidents only the ones where both a cyclist and a pedestrian are involved? But then again, a vehicle in collision with a ped would also be included in the first clause so I don't know why they need to state it explicitly, unless they are including vehicles that are not road vehicles like maybe motorized pavement sweepers? |

Ah, I think I wasn't inserting the comma in the right place, and interpreted it that at least one pedestrian should be involved. Now I remember why I didn't become a lawyer Roos |
