13 year sentence for motorist who killed pedestrian
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/...st/7035248.stm
outlines the sentence imposed on a motorist who killed one pedestrian and badly injured another while they were walking along a pavement. Whenever one of the usual suspects is whining about pavement cyclists it might be worth asking them about the last time a pavement cyclist caused so much damage to pedestrians that one was crushed to death and another had to have their leg amputated. -- David Hansen, Edinburgh I will *always* explain revoked encryption keys, unless RIP prevents me http://www.opsi.gov.uk/acts/acts2000/00023--e.htm#54 |

David, yet more OT trolling. Presumably next time someone is whining about speeding cars you will ask them about the last time a car did as much damage as the derailed train at Potter's Bar. -- Matt B |

... What is your complaint? What is your reason for hanging around here? You hate cyclists, and you won't even consider riding a bike yourself. You don't have anything positive to contribute. You at least used to have the politeness to keep your absurd views to places where they were vaguely on topic - uk.t, uk.r.d, but recently your behaviour has been more explicitly destructive. You're trying to drag a well-mannered ng down to the levels of uk.t and uk.r.d, which is not the mark of a mature human being. clive |

Does he think 13 years is too much? Not enough? About right? [PS: What makes you think I don't have or don't ride a bike? And anyway, is everyone who posts in the politics NGs an MP or councillor? Aren't there plenty of non-drivers in the transport and driving NGS?] [PPS: As you can see, you won't drag me down to your level of impoliteness.] |

Have you missed the thread about the pavement cyclist who killed someone? I don't know if I count as one of the usual suspects, but I do firmly believe that cyclists travelling at anything much faster than a walking pace belong on the road.
