Well, if you want a *direct* cause of injury, the research described he

relevant. As far as I can determine the actual paper is "Drivers
overtaking bicyclists: Objective data on riding position and helmet use".
I draw your particular attention to the fact that the researcher was
struck twice while wearing a helmet, and not at all when not wearing a
helmet.

The researcher also wasn't hit when he dressed up as a woman. This
might prove that you are safer being a transvestite!

A study of cyclists' head injuries cannot possibly prove that helmets
reduce injuries because it is necessary to ensure that there are no
confounding factors.- Hide quoted text -

The psycholists standard answer as to why it is not necessary to wear
cycle helmets! If they don't personally want to wear helmets that is
up to them, but I don't agree with the stance of the BHRF and their
website cyclehelmets.org, which basically advises people not to wear
them. As far as I can tell, this is because the psycholists who make
up the BHRF and the urcm moderators team fear that they will be made
compulsory if too many cyclists start wearing them.

Why don't you return to that home for brain damaged cyclists who were

Um, no, I was not using statistics, I was pointing out that things like
"psycholists standard answer" are fallacious arguments. But then, your
comments in this group seem to fall broadly into two classes: dogmatic
but wrong assertions, and logically fallacious attempts to back those
assertions up.
