Except Breukink. He is my hero. And he won that Gavia stage.

Breukinky was a confessed doper too.

Confessed?! When, where, what?
Who from that era ever confessed if not by dying in their sleep?

Didn't one of the Plankaerts admit in the early 90's to having used EPO?

Eddy did.

Yes, Eddy. But only many years after he had retired, and of course in
terms of 'being curious', 'trying it just for once', etc., etc.

I thought he did it in the early 90's, but it looks like it was January '98.

I just wrote a post saying he confessed, but it's sort of like he
didn't even "confess" since he didn't think it was alarming. He just
said it

Is Geritol on the banned substance list?

Mark J.

I'm waiting for Victor Vicente of America to come out of retirement.

Yeah, right. *Like some Pro Tour team is gonna hire 44 year-old has-been
who can't even win a cholo race.

These guys come out of retirement because they see the salaries the
riders are making and they kick themselves for racing for next to nothing.

dumbass,

44 is the new 24. alcala will head the new pro team backed by carlos
slim. remember he dropped armstrong like a rock on the climbs and
smoked lemond in the tt in 1990. he would won the '91 tour if he and
the rest of his PDM team didn't get food poisoning.

Rooks, Thrunisse...those guys were all on the juice.

Lemond was on PDM too.

"Doper profile" association, and addition to Lemond dossier. Thanks.

He never confessed. What's more, after the PDM scandal he became one of
the few riders who was really clean (unfortunately resulting in becoming
a third class rider).

You know he was clean? No you don't.

Can't "know" but he seemed to be one of those riders who wasn't "fully
committed' to the profession.

Yeah, just like Tyler or Vinokourov. Thanks for you keen insight into
this matter.

Speaking of which I see VDB is making another return next season, and
is planning to "live as a priest":

The thing that gets me about all these doped up riders is they actually
think they can come back and win without dope.

Look at David Millar - guy hasn't done jack since confessing and
claiming a clean life. Vino will be the same thing.

What gets me is that Vaughters hires him and talks about him like a GC
leader. You'd think it would compute in Vaughters' mind to know that
Millar got all his good results on EPO.

Now that Lance is back at least I won't have to be dragged this this
Slipsemen Presented by Chicks-with-Dicks anti-doping nonsense.

I think he meant "monk":

(Actually, I admire both the monks and the VDB "dog defense")

Lemond was on PDM too.

Yeah, but that's when he started to suck and claim he had a "blood disease" which
he asserted was due to a ****ing defective mitochondria. That's when Lemond went
clinically insane. Of course, years later he now concedes he couldn't keep up
because everyone else was on EPO, thereby negating his whole blood disease claim.

But that just goes to show you how cyclists can get a medical doctor to say
anything they want.
