Psychiatrist gets 30 days for booby-trapping Oregon trails and injuring mountain bikers
MEDFORD, Ore. – A psychiatrist has pleaded guilty and been sentenced to
30 days in jail for planting booby traps that injured Oregon mountain bikers on national forest trails outside Ashland. Dr. Jackson Dempsey apologized to the mountain bikers, his family and the medical community Wednesday in Jackson County Circuit Court in Medford. But he did not explain what led him to string nylon cords across the trails, and put nails and small trees in the path. Besides the 30 days in jail, Judge Lorenzo Mejia ordered Dempsey to stay away from national forest trails for the two years he is on probation. Three people suffered minor injuries running into the trees and cords. Dempsey was a psychiatrist for Jackson County when he was arrested last July. He no longer has that job. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/05/01...ays-for-booby- trapping-oregon-trails-and-injuring/?intcmp=obinsite |

No, he's been downgraded to "patient". Anyone with any brains knows why he booby trapped the trails. Ideally, I would like to mine the trails so as to blow mountain bikers to kingdom come, but alas this would also effect hikers, a perfectly innocent lot as pure as the driven snow. Mountain bikers who ride their bikes on hiking trails ought to be rounded up and horsewhipped. I would also draw and quarter them for good measure. As a final farewell to this most miserable group of miscreants ever to visit the earth, I would delight in ****ing on their graves. Allowing mountain biking and hiking on the same trails is an incompatible use. The real villains in this scenario are the nincompoop authorities who permit this incompatible use. Let the god damn mountain bikers get their own ****ing trails and leave the hiking trails to hikers. Thus spake Zarathustra! Ed Dolan the Great aka Saint Edward the Great |

Regarding the OP, just think about what a psychiatrist is: First, you study biological sciences and math & physics. All hard sciences. Then you get accepted to med school and study more science and anatomy and medicine. Then if you go into a psychiatric specialty for two to four years, you take all of your collected knowledge and throw it out the window and join the cult of Freudian psychiatry, which has ZERO basis in science and no studies to back it up. It is a belief system and a cult. I live next door to a psychiatrist who goes out to his garage every night and smokes weed until the whole neighborhood can smell it. Then in the morning, he goes out and inflicts his cultish belief systems on people in a personal crisis. Neat, eh? |

Ed Dolan the Great aka Saint Edward the Great So, we have a religious fanatic that wants to blow people up. Just what the world needs more of. What the world needs more of are sane sensible types like myself and less of self aggrandizing fools like you. Death to all mountain bikers, or at least to all of those who ride their bikes on hiking trails! I agree with you about Freudian psychologists. There is very little science to back up any of that very fanciful theory. Most crazy people these days are treated with pharmaceuticals. Very few if any psychiatrists put any faith in Freud and psychoanalysis. However, mountain bikers need to be clubbed over their fat stupid heads just to get their attention. One thing mountain bikers are never capable of is level headed reasoning. I live next door to a psychiatrist who goes out to his garage every night and smokes weed until the whole neighborhood can smell it. Then in the morning, he goes out and inflicts his cultish belief systems on people in a personal crisis. Neat, Freudian psychologists are seldom situated with any authority in the community of health services. They have been relegated to a cult. Only rich morons like Woody Allen would ever avail themselves of their “services”. HOWEVER, mountain bikers who ride their bikes on hiking trails can easily drive any sane person insane. All hikers should go on their walks with a concealed firearm in order to deal with aggressive criminal mountain biker types. You never know when you may have to plug one in order to save your own life. I have in the past recommended that hikers carry a bazooka in their back packs as it has nice intimidating value even if not practical. In the future, a walk in the woods will mean that you have to go fully armed as a soldier into battle. No quarter will be given and no quarter will be asked. Hikers vs.mountain bikers ... it will be a struggle to the death! Ed Dolan the Great aka Saint Edward the Great |

Should I be equipping my steed with anti-personnel rockets too ? Or, perhaps, we should agree to allow others to enjoy their own hobbies unmolested ? There's a radical solution eh ? |
