I Don't Care What You Say...
HTC versus Garmin is Men against Boys. Not only did Renshaw deliver
his man, he managed to do a good job of - legally as far as I could tell - making sure Farrar couldn't get through. WTF was Farra doing trying to go through the inside FFS? I know you yanks are nothing if not partisan at suporting your boys, but Garmin really don't have a clue at all in these sprints, leastwise not those that I've seen... UD |

Check out last year's sprint in Paris: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frdU3_aKZNs Hincapie the Yank overpowers Millar the Brit. This is key because it puts Renshaw the Aussie in a position to chop Dean's Kiwi ass. At that point it is over for Farrar, who cannot even come around Cav's leadout guy. And if anyone said anything nasty during that last kilo, all parties would have understood it. How cool is that! Anyone that appreciates a good chop should enjoy watching the HTC leadout train. Commissaires American are they? I must say I'm not surprised. Presumably for the post handbags switch which was in the last 200 rather than the handbags episode itself? UD |

Commissaires American are they? whatev, i'm not american. the chief commissaire is probably martin bruin (it was last year), who is a very reasonable guy. I must say I'm not surprised. *Presumably for the post handbags switch which was in the last 200 rather than the handbags episode itself? comes with the turf. anyone who takes part in bunch sprints will have to do somewhat dicey things and once in a while they will get penalized. that why the commissaires are there - to make the judgment call. if you remember our exchanges a few months ago, one of the things i said i didn't like about sprints was the goonery. |

I don't have a problem with the head butts. Contrary to the statement from the race director, both riders were both stable and handling their bikes and themselves well. However, the race official is not an official and should not have any input on the matter. It shouldn't have been considered as more than a little 'argy-bargy". Perhaps the number of injuries in the Tour so far (caused by entirely different circumstances, of course) has made the officials a little more gun shy than they would be otherwise. That said, if Renshaw was going to get penalized for something, it should have been the way he obviously and blatantly shut the door on Farrar. But even that shouldn't have merited a removal from the race. But what penalty would have been suitable? Cav didn't do anything wrong so you can't relegate his points. Renshaw doesn't care about his placing or time. Most fines are pittances. Getting DSQ from the race was too harsh for the infraction. |

Dumbass - Agreed. As for the head butt - why didn't he just elbow flick Dean? It would've been more subtle and worked better. thanks, Kurgan. presented by Gringioni. |

Far too harsh a penalty; smacks of politics |
