What is the name of that device, mechanism you put onto your rear
derailleur that allows STI to shift Campagnolo, or Ergo to shift
Shimano. Or 9 speed shifters to shift 8 speed or something. It
allows you to mix and match shifters and cassettes and derailleurs
from the different makers. I cannot recall the brand name for this.
I'm thinking about using Ergo to shift Shimano cogs and derailleurs.
Wondering if there is a model to allow this.

There's also the hubbub method:

Finally, here's a good summary of all things shifting;

Good Luck!

10 speed Ergo shifts Shimano derailleurs on an 8spd cassette very
well, no gizmos needed. My buddy just raced a season of cross on such
a setup. No problems.

And 10s ERGO shifts a sram road RD shimano/sram 10s spacing w/o gizmos
as well.
