Yes, I remember seeing that some weeks ago. Apparently it didn't
generate enough interest to get funded.

Judging by the shot of the electronic circuit board, it's a fairly
complicated device!

(Too bad the girl riding at the very end didn't know about headlights.)

I wouldn't be as concerned with the complexity of the circuitry in the box
as I would be about the giant honking loop antenna hanging off the bottom.

Yeah, ridiculous. No wonder it didn't got enough funds.

What I really meant about complexity was, if that's what it takes, my
hopes are slim for detecting a loop's location using simple hardware.

Yes, I know that device does a lot more than detect. But still...

He approached it the wrong way. He should have lobbied for the
government to have mandated them for all carbon fiber bicycles that are
unable of being detected by inductive loops in the road.

Perhaps you could use it hand held to find and mark the sweat spot over
the sensor coil?

you could gather your thoughts n compare what you've wired up in lED lights to Cateye's offerings.

Yes, it looks like it would certainly do that job. But as I posted
elsewhere, the main intersection that _really_ needed that marking has
been upgraded just a week or so ago. It now uses a camera to detect
traffic, and seems to detect bikes just fine.

If the product becomes available despite its funding failure, I may get
one anyway, assuming the price is not exorbitant.
