Default Bill 497 NYC...Ouch

In bicycle retailers news there was a mention of a draconian Bylaw that was
presented to NYC Council, it is Bill #497, Nov.22. The Bylaw is saying that
anyone over age 16 in NYC (or visiting NYC with a bike), will require a
License and the License tags must be displayed at all times on the bike.
Anyone without a License & or without their tags displayed get all 3 of the
following (not one or two of the 3, but all 3).
15 days in jail-a cash fine-confiscation of their bike.

Same city council last month banned e-scooters and took a shot at banning
e-bikes.
Same City Council is having a problem trying to figure out a solution to car
gridlock....duh

Next Critical Mass and no License Tags and the cops will be lining up buses
to take away the cyclists.

And we elect these people...sheesh

I wonder what driving a car without a license gets?

I bet its less.

Cars kill 10 pedestrians a year in NYC - just on the sidewalks.

But to read the NYC papers, you would think bicyclists are slaughtering
pedestrians by the dozens.
