Default Anyone remember Jeff Dutton from the 1970's? Rode in four TdF's

I met his son tonight - he's a trainer working with my son's soccer
team. From the UK, I believe, said his Dad rode the Tour 4 times in the
70's. Google didn't find me any hits so I thought I'd ask here.

TIA.

No one by that name has ever ridden the Tour:

According to Infostrada, he raced pro for one year, 1976, and placed 60th in
the Tour of Switzerland. There is no indication that he ever rode the Tour
de France.

This was a conversation with his son last night in front of a noisy
generator, outdoors, and involving my old ears. Perhaps I misheard
something. Is it possible he started but DNF'ed the TdF? Someone else
pointed out a tour history site yesterday but my French isn't good
enough to know if those listed are only finishers.

I did a name search of the start lists for the Tour from 1972-1978 at
http://www.memoire-du-cyclisme.net/ and did not come up with his name on
any of the start lists.

OK, thanks.

He never rode the TdF. He was a British-based "pro" who rarely rode on
the continent AFAIK.
