Incidentally, why do roadies have such a loathing for triple front chainrings? Is it just a machismo thing, or does it have some logical basis? BTH My touring bike and my mountain bike have triples, but it is so much nicer and smoother to change the double on my racing bike that I'd be very reluctant to give that up. One day soon I'll move to a compact, but if it gets too steep for that then that's just too bad! |

Ah shadup, I've got a triple, but in it's defence it was built to suit personal specs. BTW - who got the bluddy Cinder Bikes spam last week? Must of deleted it at least 20 times before TB realised it was spam. -- cfsmtb |

The bike I rode today has only one chainring up front and one sprocket out back. Mind you, I still have 8 ratios to choose from :-D Is it my imagination, or is there a rash of extremely **** road bikes being touted online at the moment? This Interweb thingy has a lot to answer for. You could buy the same thing at any department store for $150 on special. It's a complete turd. $1450 - for that you'd get at least Tiagra STI, probably a full groupset from a run of the mill bike shop. Who are they actually sucking in? |

I bought my 2005 Giant TCR2 with full 9spd 105 (hence a price reduction) for $1399. I race with it and it's a very good bike IMO. The one these guys are selling is a worthless piece of crap and they want THAT much for it! Sheesh! |
