Cycle use in London is booming. I photographed and counted 35
bicycles in my primary school's cycle shed yesterday morning.

Cyclist numbers up over 80% since 2000.

It sort of suggests that the more cyclists there are the safer
cyclists become as motorists become used to the idea of sharing
roadspace.

It's a fair point. If parents are keeping their children
off the road, then they're not being killed there. At least
not until they become bored, frustrated teenagers on motorbikes
and assorted substances.

But that's not true. Lots is being done in London to get children to
cycle to school, and cycling has been on the increase for many years.

Here's a link to what each borough are currently offering in terms of
cycle training - and individual schools are doing their own things on
top of what the council offers.
