From the CM site

I am well aware that Critical Mass is a collection of individuals that gather together to cycle in London on the last Friday of every month, and thus represent themselves and not any organisation.

As participants in Critical Mass argue that each cyclist acts invidvidually it is a shame that in actual fact that they act with a hive mentality, following the person in front with complete disregard for pedestrian crossings - too concerned with riding their bike on a sunny evening and keeping up with the people in front, the music drowning out the sound of pedestrian crossings.

We attempted to cross the road by Euston Station today with our bikes (just got off a train, had been cycling up North) but the individuals at Critical Mass collectively failed to stop at the pedestrian crossing.

We waited for two crossings and my 11 year old son was still unable to cross. When he did try to make his way through the cyclists because the light was red and the green man was on for the third time, cyclists refused to stop.

Top one - mow down an 11 year old with his racing bike. Solidarity eh?

Big shame but the individuals who go along to critical mass events give cyclists a bad name. Anyone who doesn't stop at a red light to let pedestrians cross shouldn't be on the road - cyclist or driver.

Sad how spineless and uncaring Londoners are. In a decent society, one
or two adults would have walked out into the melee and brought the child
through safely. It's not exactly a raptor attack, just a bunch of
excited halfwits on bicycles. Fend them off with a raised arm or a firm
shoulder if they come dangerously close, and let them crash into each
other.

If only... but psycholists are notoriously dishonest and litigious. They
fall off their contraptions if you just look at them funny, then sue you for
injuries they sustained via telekinesis. Along with the obligatory
"glum-pic" in the local paper, where they kneel folornly next to their
broken bicycle.

It could be quite interesting to carry a large bit of wood over the
crossing.
