Default Cyclist, 72, rides nine miles home with broken bones

Contains graphic injury image.
QUOTE:
A 72-year-cyclist seriously injured when he was involved in a collision with a car climbed back on his bike and rode nine miles home before going to hospital.

Doug Gale, from Cheltenham, suffered four broken ribs, a fractured hip and a head injury after coming off his bike on Gupshill roundabout on the edge of Tewkesbury.

But rather than call an ambulance the bloody and battered veteran cyclist headed home so his wife could take him to Cheltenham General Hospital.

That would be the best thing to do in a lot of places.
