Try supporting a good local bike shop first. Mail order companies
don't build trails in your community.

Not necessarily true. Many do it indirectly. Action Wheels (my LBS) is
a sponsor of our MTB club and we build and maintain the trails. I know
of two other LBS's in Deleware that do the same for the clubs there.
