I need a new kickstand
"Papa Tom" wrote in message ... I knew this was coming. I've been using the same Greenfield aluminum alloy kickstand for about 10 years on my GT mountain bike, which has become much more of a road and path bike since I turned forty. This summer, I added a pannier over my left wheel and, little-by-little, the amount of crap I pack it with has snowballed. (snip) So my question is, given the additional weight I've added to the kickstand side of the bike, can anybody recommend something a little more heavy duty than the Greenfield? Or should I just replace what I had before? Thanks for your suggestions! I have had several Esge/SKS double leg kickstands. They are available in silver or black. I bought mine from Niagra Cycle Works, who I recommend. http://www.niagaracycle.com/product_...ducts_id=11369 Not intended for use in heavy snow: http://www.neiu.edu/~jbollyn/bike/wi...-kickstand.jpg Depending on how your weight is distributed, one or the other wheel will be in the air: http://www.neiu.edu/~jbollyn/bike/archive/bike1.jpg http://www.neiu.edu/~jbollyn/bike/el...yal8-08-08.jpg Please disregard the bent seat post in the following pic, which has been replaced: http://www.neiu.edu/~jbollyn/bike/el...electra-01.jpg Bike Commuter J. |
