"sabine" wrote in message om... Daniel Connelly wrote in message ... Our local was very motivated for this race and would have given the big teams a run for their money. This was a perfect course for her too. Sigh..too bad she crashed and ended her season. Other locals to watch out for are, Karen Brems (formerly Kurreck) who despite repeated calls of "but I only train 10 hours a week now" is peaking for this race and in excellent shape. Katheryn Curi has had good success at Toona and most recently guest riding for Rona. Kate Maher, Kim Cunnigham and Meredith Miller (can we still claim her?) are all on the same team and could do some damage. Carmen D'Alusio and Gina Hall are warming up for cross and Carmen especially has been riding very strong. I don't see one of the area's strongest local riders, Christine Thorburn on the list and thats suprising. She's riding superbly right now, dominating the local races. Although Kim Bruckner and Lynn Bessette are listed, they won't be racing. But between Nicole/Rochelle and the Acca Due squad, it will get ugly. I wouldn't be surprised if the field lost 30% each lap. |

"Daniel Connelly" wrote in message . .. Women's race: * Nicole Cooke * plenty of local racers Hats off the the locals, but it's gonna get ugly out there. Dan I'll be there. There are some locals, but many of the amateurs are quality cat 1 & 2's from all over the country. Our team is Seattle based but we are filling out our roster with some strong guest riders from as far away as New Hampshire and North Carolina. None of us are contenders, but it should be fun anyway! I've only been racing 2 years, so I may be a little out of my league, but it's a chance of a lifetime... I agree, it's gonna get ugly out there. -Suz (pack fodder) |

I wouldn't be surprised if the field lost 30% each lap. I seldom agree with you, but that's probably about right. -hoping to be 31% each lap Suz |
