Has anyone noticed (how pathetic if I'm the only one) the FloMax male
bonding commercials?
This group of middle aged trust funders are so routinely thrilled by
whizzing like boy scouts again, that every pit-stop is followed by a
series of high-5's all around and jocularity.
Anyway, if you catch this commercial, note during the cycling segment
the extra squirrelly dude with the medium blue helmet. I swear he has
his foam hat on backwards.

Best Regards - Mike Baldwin

Some things I have noticed about that commercial:

All the bikes are the same make and model--just different colors.
All the helmets are the same make--just different colors
All the kayaks are alike--just different colors
All the bikes have upright-type handlebars. Have you ever been in a group
where everybody was riding the same model bike with exactly the same
handlebars?

Pat in TX

As I am sure you know, ad agencies don't go for realism - they go for low
production cost. And they try to fool most of the people, most of the time.

I'm sorry, you actually *watch* commercials?

Maybe it fits better that way.

As latter-day anthropological "relics," they reveal
the state of our current culture.

It doesn't look good.

Except Dairy Queen has popcorn shrimp. (I consider
being reminded of that, a good thing.)

This site may be of interest to you:
http://www.adbusters.org/home/

I've always kinda liked these:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...ve_commercials

"New Shimmer is both a floor wax /and/ a dessert topping!"
"mmmm ... tastes great!"
"And just look at that shine!"

Anti-commercials give us hope.

Note how slightly bicycles are advertised.

What is FloMax, anyways? Sounds like a drain unclogger
like Liquid Plumbr.

cheers,
Tom

It shrinks the prostate. It's quickly becoming the designer drug of
choice though among the trust funder cult crowd.
Side effects may include all the norms. ****'in yourself, puke'in,
heart attack & stroke, double vision, headaches, clogged nasal passages
and hearing loss. Same effect you'd get if you drank Liquid Plumber.

"Tom Keats"

The thought of going back to work tomorrow (Monday) shrinks
prostates quicker 'n cranberry juice with sawtooth palmetto
extract and saltpetre in it. Such is my lot.

cheers,
Tom

I'm on the "FloMax and the Saw Palmetto and I drink a lot of cranberry
juice.
I may try your drink mix, does it work?

He's probably got his shorts on backwards too.

Although the "spin" in this thread is OT, the underlying topic isn't
OT at all. I've had significant issues over the years in attending to
"calls of nature" on long bike rides, more than once just seeking out
the nearest bush in urban areas. Flowmax didn't help. I eventually
had prostate surgery (a TURP) in 2005, which kept me off the bike for
almost 4 weeks, but has resulted in a dramatic improvement in the
condition.

Besides Flomax there's Flonase, which is to make your nose start running
again.
That suggests the start of a series, so I propose naming a laxative
"Flobutt."
