Heck, I'd just like to see the MTB these would haul.

Must be one of those heavy Downhill bikes.

cheers,
Tom

Dude, fill the back up with water, an' make a giant Jacuzzi! Think how

many
chicks you could fit in that thing!

Matt O.

not anymore than a regular full size pickup truck apparently, it has a "8'
dually pickup bed," pretty much the same you'd find on your average
way-too-large-pickup. i'll stick with my toyota thanks.

I've heard that some riders claim they derive some sort
of cross-training benefits by not limiting themselves to
just off-road, or just paved terrain.

Yeah, right!

Just kidding, with tongue firmly in cheek. Fortunately,
nobody has to pledge allegiance to either road or trail
to the exclusion of the other.

It is, however, interesting to note GWB leans primarily to
off-road, while Kerry apparently is more of a roadie.
Maybe the US of A needs a Third Option/candidate who does
city cruising on a chopper, or BMX Street riding, or
/something/ different (short of transporting MTBs to the
trailhead on earthmovers.) Kinda like how The Who filled
the gap between the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.

I'd think someone who's into cycle touring would make an
ideal presidential canditate.

cheers,
Tom

i accept your nomination!

crap, you're canadian.

besides anyone who's into cycletouring would balk at a job with almost zero
potential for any sizeable stretch of time off. oooops, george2 obviously
notwithstanding.

hmmm, wait a minute .. the secret service sag van might work out ok.

One should be able to integrate it into one's itineraries.

As long as they stock Krispy Kreme, rather than Dunkin donuts.

I've heard it said the best leaders are those who'd
have to be dragged kicking and screaming to office.
Of course there are exceptions. Like Eleanor Roosevelt.

cheers,
Tom

So would Nader be the recumbent candidate or the unicylce candidate?

Ross Perot (back in his heyday) must have been the candidate of the little
clown bike.

I could keep this up for a while.......

As a newly minted uni rider, it is mnsho that Nader would be the dork
in a utility trike http://3wheel.makers.com.tw/frontpic/3000.jpg.

Unicycles are for the kewl kidz, not square herberts, man.

Actually, for the life o' me, I cannot picture any past
incumbent or candidate since Truman as a cyclist. That
would include Humphrey and McGovern. I can sorta see
Truman on a Raleigh 3-speed, a little bit ... his grey
suit fluttering in the breeze, one hand holding his hat on.

Dwight had his driver (hubba hubba.) JFK was too much into
football to be into cycling. Since then you guys have gone
through Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush the Elder,
Clinton ... and some amusing side-shows like Agnew and that
guy who can't spell 'potato' (who might, by Fabrizio standards,
be the closest thing to a Cyclist that the White House has
ever seen.) Imagine Gerald Ford and Look pedals.

Canada's no better; in fact, we're far worse. Our Prime Ministers
can't even pull off a decent kick-off, let alone a First Pitch.

cheers,
Tom
