Default Is my bike up to par?

Hi guys. I'm contemplating picking up mountain biking since I live in
an area that has some great trails (Western NC) and my friends are
really into it. I was wondering if I would need a new bike. See, I have
a Trek Mt. Track 240 (the 24" kids model) that my dad got for me a few
years ago and I never really used. I never outgrew it either--I'm
really small (20 years old, 5'1", 105lbs). Do you guys think that bike
will work? I won't be going on any crazy terrain for a good while, so
how would you rate it for beginner to intermediate trails? Do I need to
start looking for a used adult bike? If so, are there any that are
specifically made for really tiny people? )
