Default regrets? If?

From
http://www.cyclingnews.com/road/2008...ul08/jul13news
a teammate speaking about Beltran

"He also said that he would have regrets if he 'B' sample test results
ended up confirming his positive A-sample"

This is one guy talking about what another guy supposedly said,
probably with translation several times, but it sounds bizarre.
Regrets *if* the B sample is positive? Does that mean regrets for
being caught or not hiding it well enough, rather than regrets for
doping?

Maybe he means regrets for Beltran's gravely ill dog, for whom
the prescription was surely intended. There is precedence here,
and it is not good for the dog.

Well the teammate also said: "That's not really positive" so who knows
what he means....

Can you believe that Beltran would use EPO like that?
