Channel 11 News has learned that a prominent Westmoreland County
attorney was found dead in Maryland along a popular bike trail over
the weekend.

The sheriff's department in Garrett County said J. David Caruthers was
found along a trail in Herrington Manor State Park.

Investigators said Caruthers had a mountain bike with him and that it
appears as if he died of natural causes.

A medical examiner in Baltimore will perform an autopsy.

Caruthers had a private practice and was also the chief trial counsel
for the Westmoreland County Public Defender's Office.

You do know that particular trail was not a "mountain bike" trail,
right?

handsaw.

I doubt Mr. Sherman has ever ridden his Sunset Lowracer off-road, let alone
on a hiking trail. Very strange that he should want to identify with
criminal idiot asshole mountain bikers.

He might have lived another 30 years if he hadn't been trying to do some
fool kid thing.

Some bike trails in rolling terrain can be very stressful if you are not in
tip-top shape. That is why I recommend rails-to-trails to the elderly.
Anyone who enjoys clmbing grades on a bicycle is some kind of nut!

1.) that's not even close to the position that Vandeman has.
2.) he could have keeled over after another few minutes of driving his car
to the trailhead, and Vandeman would not have found the story with his bot.
3.) he could have dropped dead at dinner that evening.

There is no apparent relationship between "evolution in action" and this
man's sudden demise. You're a smart guy, surely you understand that Mike
uses "evolution in action," as the rest of us use the Darwin Awards.

Mr. Vandeman has posted hundreds of messages describing accidental injuries
and deaths from mountain biking, mostly involving older folks who should
know better. Mountain biking is a dangerous activity. Hiking trails were
designed for hiking, not biking.

Mr. Vandeman has posted hundreds of messages describing accidental
injuries and deaths from mountain biking,

This is not a death caused by mountain biking, e.g., riding off of a cliff,
slamming headlong into a tree, encountering an enviro-whacko with a saw,
etc. This is a death that happened due to health issues that any activity
could have triggered the scenario that lead to the demise of the individual.

Vandeman used the term, "EVOLUTION IN ACTION," as if the person involved
died for no other reason than the bike. The coroner's office disputes that
assertion.

Just because Vandeman has posted hundreds of such stories doesn't mean he's
a genius. Quite the opposite is true. He's the consumate idiot.
