Default Used Road Posts To Avoid?

I'm working on mid 90's vintage bike and need a chromed 27.2 / 250mm post
for it.

For styling, I'm looking for something along the lines of this:
http://tinyurl.com/8uaxq

Something more modern along the lines of this would also be fine:
http://tinyurl.com/8qllu provided I can find it in chrome.

I've heard horror stories of some Campy posts being horrible in terms
of access to adjuster bolts and other horror stories of some Shimano
posts failing.

So, what are the problem posts that should be avoided?

NOTE: I'm not too much against single bolt posts, as I've been riding them
for 30 years with no problems. However, if there are single bolt designs
that are horrible, I would like to hear that.

I have the post shown in your first link (Campy C-Record) on an older bike,
it's very pretty and I can't imagine anyone having trouble accessing the
adjuster post. The only Campagnolo posts where I can see a problem accessing
the adjuster bolts would be the older Nuovo Record models w/ 2 bolts, and
even those didn't seem to qualify for "horror story" status, IME.

You may want a post that is a silvery metal color. You do not want a chomed
post. If the first example is anything to go by, you want a polished anodized
aluminum post. That should make finding one easier.

That's the cheap campy post of that era. Get the record post, it is a
nicer looking post.

I use to have a late 80's campy record post on my Vitus 979. Back then I was
in about 155lbs. I never had a problem with the single bolt adjustment. The
only tricky part was getting the angle of the seat just right. You would have
to play with it because as you tighten the bolt, the seat angle would change a
bit. So you have to compensate for that change.

snip Pinnah's inquiry about used "road posts" to ignore

You could start with the one titled "The one thing that couldn't go
wrong, did go wrong." (and anything to do with helmets).

Campy Centaur post in silver is real nice. Centaur posts used to be
steel, but they are now now made in AL (at least the one I bought last
year is Aluminum). It is very nicely finished.

It looks exactly like my C Record post dating back to 1985.

I'm pretty sure that is not a C-Record post but a Chorus post. The
C-Record
didn't have those tow wings under the clamp area.

Taking a second look, I think Mr. Rodriguez is right. I don't think those
two wings are on my 1987/88 C-Record post (which is stored a long way from
my current location, or I'd run out and look).
