Buying a bike from the Bike Doctor in Vancouver or from another LBS
I just read the "rant" post regarding the Bike Doctor. I am in the
market for a new road bike and visited the Kingsway Bike Doctor store a couple of weeks ago and I thought that the prices were not too bad, and their attention/answers I recieved to all my questions were great. I hope that their after sale service is just as great. Any opinions on their after sale service. Next week, once I return from an out of town trip, I plan to visit Jubilee cycle and Edmonds cycle in Burnaby. (I am lucky that I live within 10 minutes of all 3 of the LBS.) Does any person have any opnions also of these 2 stores. Thanks, Mark |

Last time I checked in there, they had a fairly good selection of cycling apparel, albeit rather mountain bike-oriented, and some of it is heavily branded with logos 'n such -- lotsa Kona, IIRC. I've never been in Edmonds Cycle. I've also had good service at Precision Cycle (Victoria Drive & 33rd), and Cables 'n Cogs (Broadway, near [west of] Arbutus). There's a relatively new shop on Main & 28th -- Black Sheep Cycle. I haven't really dealt with them yet. When I peeked in the shop shortly after they opened, I got the impression they're very freeride/street, although they had an eye-catchingly pink Nervz Hello Kitty in the front window for awhile. I think somebody eventually actually bought it. So it's a place to check out, just to satisfy one's curiosity. Ryan will no doubt keep a wether-eye on it for when it closes and stuff goes on sale. cheers, Tom -- -- Nothing is safe from me. Above address is just a spam midden. I'm really at: tkeats [curlicue] vcn [point] bc [point] ca |
