Near-miss for top NZ mountain biker

Top New Zealand mountain biker Vanessa Quin escaped being paralysed
after breaking her neck in a fall during the national championships in
Nelson at the weekend.

Wow! Hiking and Mountain biking are so similar! Thanks MV!

Hiker apparently killed by fall on Big Island identified
Advertiser Staff

Big Island police today identified the man who apparently fell to his
death

It really is in poor taste to lower yourself to Vandeman's level by
trying to use an accident to make an argument.

The fact is that both activities can be dangerous.

I prefer to concentrate on the environmental aspects of activities, and
everyone agrees that mountain biking is no more damaging to the
environment than hiking.

You know that's a bald-faced lie.

Not according to the agencies that have access to the REAL information (not
your version of it) and have the REAL scientists and advocates in charge of
reviewing that information. They have made the decisions and the rules.
And it has been established by REAL environmental scientists and advocates
that cycling and hiking are indeed similar enough for shared access in most
instances of multi-use forest and park lands.

The bald-faced lie is obviously outlined in your OPINIONS.

"everyone agrees that mountain biking is no more damaging to the
environment than hiking" is a bald-faced lie, because not everyone
agrees. QED.

I am working on creating wildlife habitat that is off-limits to
humans ("pure habitat"). Want to help? (I spent the previous 8
years fighting auto dependence and road construction.)

Please don't put a cell phone next to any part of your body that you are fond of!

Everyone that has a brain and access to the actual research and not your
perverted "reviews" and versions of it agrees. Everyone that matters
(decision and rule makers) agree. Practically everyone except you.... Since
you have not (and the requests have been many) provided any other
environmental researcher or scientist to specifically endorse your extreme
opinions concerning your views of off-road cycling, the use of the word
"practically" is a mere courtesy.
