Default Problems with Planet Bike Protege 9.0 - Losing Battery Contact/Resetting

Has anyone had problems with a Planet Bike Protege 9.0 resetting and losing
all memory (not trip resetting), presumably from the battery disconnecting.
I returned the first one I purchased and its replacement had the same
problem. It appears that the plastic clips that keep the battery in place
don't work properly and are grossly undersized.

Planet bike suggested that I bend the battery terminals in towards the
battery to provide greater clamping force.

thanks in advance

Nothing but problems! Returned my to Nashbar after 11 months of use and
bought a CatEye. Never turned back.
