Default Sigma BC800 computer. How do I open it?

I have a rather old BC800 Sigma Sport bike computer. Through the
years it's had its share of dust and rain and sweat and all kinds of
stuff poured on it. Now the buttons are gummed up. Press them in and
they dont pop back out. You have to physically pull them out.

What I want to do is open the case and give the buttons a good
cleaning.

I've tried sliding a putty knife in the crack around the case and
twisted, but I cant budge the thing. I suspect it was either
ultrasonically welded together or it just snaps together with so much
force, nothing will pry it apart.

So, has anyone ever successfully opened one of these things? Or should
I just forget it and buy a new computer?

More than one button?? Must be old. It's not popping apart any time
soon, but using your wife's toothbrush and some dish soap, you should
be able to clean the gunk out. It *is* waterproof, right?

I have a later model that's still new, so never had to try. From the looks
of things, it's either securely clipped in (one way only), or it's factory
glued in place.

Either way, owing to the trouble you have to go to take it apart, then
reassemble to the point that it's going to be useful, will probably not be
worth the replacement cost.

I know it's taking the easy way out, but looking at economics first for
repairs has been beaten into me in recent years: Toss it and buy a new one.
