Some of this data is old, from the 1990s, but there haven't been enough
changes to come anywhere close to validating your claim that
unseen-hits-from-behind happen all the time in your area.

Again: You can prove Cross-Fisher and me wrong. You can give us a list
of the daytime hits-from-behind in your area, however you define that
area. If they really happen "all the time" that should be easy.

Start with the ones from this month and last month, OK?

This thread was started because NINE bicyclists WERE HIT FROM BEHIND IN BROAD DAYLIGHT and they were on a STRAIGHT SECTION of road.

Despite your statistic bicyclists do get hit from behind and the result is often death or serious injuries to the bicyclist(s). Remember that FIVe of the 9 bicyclists were killed and four were injured two of them quite seriously.

Cheers

I know that, Sir. But the available data seems to indicate that
daytime, unseen hit-from-behind fatalities are probably a _maximum_ of
maybe five per year in the entire U.S. Non-fatal are a few more, maybe
ten max.

Joerg is saying that daytime unseen hits from behind happen "all the
time" in his area. He cannot possibly be correct.

And you should be able to comprehend that if something happens very,
very rarely:
A) It doesn't mean that it _never_ happens; but
B) It also doesn't mean you should be very afraid of it.

People have died from molasses floods and from exploding toilets.
People have been beheaded while driving in their cars. They've died
when the ground beneath them opened up and swallowed them. Do you worry
about all those sorts of things?

Yes. http://koin.com/2015/07/13/oregon-wi...rthquake-hits/ This is why we legalized weed in Oregon. It will make the Big One less stressful.

Gators..Hiking the a creek...gators.
I 'worry' in multi approach intersections.
Interstate driving on snow n ice as not everyone can do but think they can.
Each approaching vehicle from a side road, worry's me.
the faster I go the more I worry.

Yesterday going thru our Montecarlo connector, a woman wearing sunglasses came toward me in the esses, no shoulder, against traffic with a 6' wide park path other side Blvd.

I worry you are mentally ill n I share the road with you.

A solid SpaceX launch this morning. I come away believing this is now an accomplished technology like ignition switches.

I was vandalized for really stupid red neck logic with tire spiking. This is a big deal.

Driving past Plant City on I4 there were 5-6 flatters. EYSHAHA a strange week here in a strange place. We could use a good bank robbery with 8-10 perps.

In the gator news there's utube ref to a video of the mother of the 4 small white crosses I pass on the way to McD at Mimms.

I worry some monkey with 28 people in Blazer is behind me on bald tires at 75 mph.
