Campagnolo vintage...
Hi,
How does one pin down the model year of Campagnolo components? Are there any similar model numbers as is the case for Shimano components? I have 9-speed ErgoPower levers, but with the new, rounded hood shape. The front derailleur has no (9-speed, 10-speed) markings except "Chorus", but the whole groupset otherwise is for a 9-speed setup. Thanks for any help! Basjan |

There is no great system, just have to know when Campy made changes to
logos and designs. e-mail , he's a Campy (idiot?) savant and loves to trace Campy lineage. I'm convinced he doesn't sleep, just lays there and recites the Campy family tree to himself.............. |

Basjan First year for rounded shape was 1998, first year for 10s was 2000 so yours are 1998 or 1999. Take the back plastic cover off and look at the metal plate covering the shift guts. If it is smooth, no rectangular notches-1998. If it has those(for ERGOBRAIN), 1999. |

I go to sleep clutching my Campagnolo teddybear but it's getting worn and if the rumors about 2007 perist, I may have to get a new one(not ****mano, of course, not Sram), Maybe start sleeping with tools instead of BRAIN-less 'retail', more repair. |

They gonna make that in French threading? I'm still riding my '75 PX10. It seems like it wouldn't be too hard to make a threadless one - have one "cup" thread into the other, not too different from the Mavic/Stronglight threadless BB. Maybe this'll prompt Phil to branch out from square taper... -Hank |

(Not to say the poor image of triples is justified. Nor to say that a "compact double" is a good substitute for a well thought out triple.) and introducing the over hyped, overmarketed, outboard bearing type BB for Campag... UGH!! It's sad to see Campy get aboard the Pure-Unmitigated-Bull**** Wagon. Here's hoping it's only "rumors". |
