Front Wheel question.
I've been using Velocity Aerohead rims with DA7700 hubs. I like the OCR
design and use a 32H/3x in back. For a little more comfort I'm considering having a front wheel built using a Mavic Open Pro. I weight 185-190lb. What are the thoughts on having a 28H/2x wheel using DT competition spokes vs a 32H/3x using DT revolution spokes? thanks to all. Rick |

Front Wheel question.
I'm wondering why the Open Pro would be more comfortable?... not that
there is much difference (perceptible) in the vertical stiffness of any wheels. I'd go for the Revs on the front, anyway. |

Rick I don't think rim changes will have any effect on comfort. I'm 210-220 or so and I have been using DT Comp 32h/3x rear, 28h/2x front on Ultegra 6600 laced to Velocity Deep-V. I ride hard on crap roads (bumpy and occasional big holes) and have not had any problems. I would have built with Revolutions, but they were out of stock at the time. It hasn't seemed to make any difference over thousands of km. Joseph |

What you propose will work fine with a Velocity Aereohead 28 hole x 2x 2.0/1.8 spokes. I weigh 195 and have had zero problem with that combination. I don't think that 32 or 28 will make any difference in comfort. When I have a 32 hole hub to use, I use 1.8/1.6 spokes. I regularly use the thinner spokes on the NDS of rear wheels too. |
