Beattie ? know a patent lawyer ? is there a searchable category for patents for subjects made 'cheaper' thru a 'cheaper' patent ? in the extreme...in the area of pursuing liability and negligence as a profitable activity.

Actual bike tech. Congratulations!

I'd love to read Jobst's review of these spokes.

Yup, and then we would get to talk about the old days of crappy Alpine and Union spokes; how stress relieving cures all evils and how in ten trillion miles he hasn't broken a DT 15/16 Competition spoke -- and that no heavier spoke is needed (presumably ever). He would rail on "botique" wheels (which now dominate the market and are no longer botique -- any more than CF frames are botique.) Hmmm, what else? Probably something about the nipple design. He certainly wouldn't like the aluminum option.

Not that I think these are great spokes, nor do I think they are needed since a good DT/Sapim/Wheelsmith SS spoke does tend to last forever at reasonable tensions. Really high tension wheels may need a different spoke (and tend to use straight pull spokes anyway).

But who knows -- maybe these are great spokes. More info he http://www.pillarspoke.com/Pillar-2015.pdf Cool tension meter calibrator for my home shop!

If these spokes pull rim for forward movement n pull to build....the build stress riser is at the last few spokes turned ?

that is unlike 'normal' spokes, these spokes do not pull to hub center, the new spokes pull along rim, possibly pulling outward as well or not well as the case maybe.
