Ha! I like that. And if it happens often enough they will be sure to pressure the council to fix the problem :-) Guy Do you really think that the police will give you permission to proceed? If it doesn't, you can report it as "Unlawful detention" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks. Good old Phil Knee always comes up with the goods. Pure Gold Absolutely. Of course, with Mr Lee, the absurd things he says are only part of what makes him so open to ****-taking; it's the fact that he never retracts what he's said, even when he's clearly screwed up, which makes him one of *the* targets (he could have saved some face by taking back the "cabbie" remark for example, or at least passing it off as "a joke" (albeit a very tasteless one)). In that way, he's rather like Chapman (and other psycholists..."Never retract or apologise as it makes you look weak"), although it does of course go without saying that he's nowhere near as bad as The Arch-Car-Hater overall. If I ever accuse anyone of that then I hereby declare that I will apologise unreservedly and profusely to them. That would be a truly horrible and unwarranted thing to say under any circumstances. |

It didn't detect me on my bike and so stayed red, for a good 3 minutes, until a car came up behind me and activated the lights and they mercifully went green at last. According to one of the more knowledgeable and respected posters in this group, I was unlawfully detained by the council for that 3 minutes. How do I go about reporting this very serious crime? Presumably the person who falsely detained me can expect jail (a taste of his/her own medicine), and I will be in line for compensation? Did you have a compo cam? When I think about what I could have done with that wasted 3 minutes of my life, and what a changed man I was when I emerged from the dank, hellish prison which was my adopted home for all that time, I firmly believe that I will never be the same again after that horrific, nightmarish and neverending experience (which I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy). Please, denizens of URC, help me, a poor, persecuted cyclist, the likes of whom is regularly discussed and sympathised with in this newsgroup, obtain adequate redress for the wicked and terrible injustice which has been so callously inflicted upon me. I'll be a witness, just tell me what to say. That doesn't work unless he "finds" you on the internet and you can suddenly remember being there and seeing it all happen but didn't think it worth offering to be a witness at the time. Sorry, wasn't thinking. -- Dave - Cyclists VOR. Indeed - he once claimed that : "The Office of Nation Statistics gives the number of pedestrain deaths from trips & slips for 2007 (over 3,000) as being higher than the number killed in all incidents involving vehicles." Which I said was pure ********. He never did apologise or give a link to the Office of Nation sic Statistics to confirm his statement. It is incredible that he actually thought that his statement was true and that 8 people were tripping up on a pavement and dying every day of the year. "****wit" is too kind for him. -- If the *******s won't do anything about the taxi driver risking people's lives by dangerous driving, book him to take your kids on a trip, then report him for kiddy-fiddling. He'll never drive a taxi again. Phil W Lee 6 February 2011 |
