Why do spelling errors faze me so?

Is it just me, or does anyone else cringe slightly when the word "phase" (or its homonyms) is used in describing problems of some sort, due to the rampant overuse of phase-this and phase-that and out-of-phase-wierdly-somehow in the various Star Trek series? By the time we'd seen the third searon of Voyager, "phase" problems had become such a cliche that the word was almost to the point of being a drinking game token. With the exit of Brannon Braga from the Franchise, perhaps we have left that phase of Star Trek's existence...and none too soon, if it's the case. -- Typoes are a feature, not a bug.
