On reflection, I reckon it might be best to submit a brief paper myself intended for full publication, if the system allows it (and does not relegate it to e-correspondence). That way I get to do the writing rather than have them repeat their mealy-mouthed evasion. Of course it won't have any real content other than one correct sum.
