Germany has some kick ass bike and PT systems! Bike lanes here in Munic
run everywhere a road or footpath does and they are a decent size. Ital
is insane - Iäd be scared in a car let alone a bike

The bikes aren,t all cool like most of ours.. just for commuting mostl
I guess.. some real ****ters ;

MANY people have those trekking bars in Munich

In case zou are wondering what the hell I am doing online instead o
something touristy.. lets just say, free `net plus drinking from many 1
beer glasses with a bunch of aussies you found in a beer hall on th
other side of the world can lead to some nasty feelings the next day! :

alfidezen (or something) zee hipp

P.S. Where are all the bike shops in these places?!?! Ive only found
here - none in Rome, Florence or Venice.. If anyone has th
addresses of any shops in Berlin.. i#ll be there tomorrow.. price
seem higher than oz generally..

Hippy where were you riding in Italy - on the autostrada? Once you get
out of cities, Italian cycling feels much safer than here. I remember
using 2 good bike shops in Florence, can't remember where they were
though. You will really need your wet weather gear to ride your bile
in Venice:-)

If you want to see some touring bike + camping / trekking gear
get yourself out to Globetrotter.de - catch the UBahn out
to Rathaus-Steglitz(sp?) It's about 2 shops down from the lift
up from the metro.

We never saw any other bike shops in Berlin, but didn't look very hard.
The bratwurst in a bun outside the (name?) central station are excellent!

have fun,
-kt

hey, hipze

many of the (especially northern) european shops arent set up like here
Look 'behind' the shops, as youre used to seeing them here. organised s
that the parking and many shop fronts are out the back of the street an
the street is left to the mad traffic (just dont mention the war :-P

how many bikes have you bought so far
